P4 - Planning

Proposal

For the planning of the show, we will first name it "The Five-Minute Fright Show" talking about scary phenomenon spotted within Doncaster. The purpose of it is to spread spooks and scary stories of other people witnessing or being experts in seeing ghosts.

In the show it will talk about ghost huntings and old ghost legends, with one of them being about the "Grey Monk". There will be an interview with a person named "Poltergeist" on a phone call talking more about his experiences and seances in ghost hunting. Between the legend of the Grey Monk and the phone call, an advert will be placed to serve as a quick break before going to the next bit.

The target audience is people from the age of 16-24 since they have interest in ghost hunting and mystical stories from the past. Usually at this age, people expand their interests and come across different subjects and themes, and most of them expand more onto mystery.

There is a wide variety of equipment we could use to create our show. The mic is used to allow us to capture the audio from us talking or any sound effects, A computer/laptop is used to record the audio and allow us to edit our radio show together. We will each have headphones on to we can hear what we are recording. When it comes to software, we can use Adobe Audition or Audacity to record and edit our show. this will give us the options to adjust our footage also.

At the moment, there isn't any budget available for it but in future, it will be paid off from the profits made from the advert that will be included. The use of the budget will be used to rent out the equipment for use in the creation of the radio and keep the radio itself airing.

Before making the radio, me and two other friends formed a group for producing the radio and we each gave each other roles on what to do during the production. The people within the group and their roles are:

  • Jay(Me) - Actor, Making and Producing Advert
  • Arsentijs - Script Writer, Actor, Pre - Production documents Maker
  • Toby - Editor, Making and Producing Jingles, Actor

The Five-Minute Fright Show

9:00am – Jingle

This is the five-minute fright show. The radio show dedicated to hauntings, sightings, and stories of things that go bump in the night (Arsentijs Sulga)

We are your hosts, Venkman (Arsentijs), and Stantz (Toby).

9:01am – Introduction

In this segment, we will be dissecting some of the most gut-wrenching paranormal cases of Doncaster, ranging from the “Grey Monk” of Conisbrough Castle, to the ghostly apparitions of “Hangman Stone”.

Not only will we be delving into famous Doncaster haunts, but we have a very special guests later in the show, the well renownedPaultergeist”.

[Que suspenseful stinger / music]

Now, into the haunts.

9:01 – 9:02 – Jingle

Up first is the spectre of Conisbrough Castle, the “Grey Monk”.

Ooo I’ve heard about this one, always gives me goosebumps.

Yeah so, it’s believed that the castle grounds are haunted by a mysterious ghost, with sightings dating back to the 18th century.

And apparently quiet voices and supernatural knocks can be heard around the ruins come nightfall, with several stories being run through the local press on this specific subject.

It’s obvious there’s something paranormal dwelling in the grounds, stories in the press don’t just come from no-where

Exactly.

Here, this is a direct submission from one of our listeners on the subject, take a listen:

[Que eerie audio bed]

It came into view on the part of the Keep that is outside of the curtain walls. The shadowy figure climbed about halfway to the top and then moved
sideways out of sight around the other side of the Keep. From my vantage point which was about 1/2 Mile away on the Oval Park I could clearly see the figure
climbing the keep. Although it was dark the street lighting on the surrounding roads illuminated the side of the castle enough to see the figure against the
stone background. My girlfriend at the time also witnessed the event.
I have tried to rationalise the sighting for many years, but I still cannot believe that a person can climb that particular section of the Keep in the way that I saw. I lived in Conisbrough for nearly 20 years and have been to the Castle at all times of day and night and never saw anything like I saw that night.
I have had a check through records and cannot find any specific reference to anything like this incident. Thought I'd pass this story on do with it
what you will.

[Music Outro]

Scary stuff.

[Jingle]

9:03am

Now for a break from the supernatural stuff, an advertisement from our sponsors.

[Que advertisement]

Up next, we have a call interview with the Doncaster psychic, “Paultergeist”, with a reading happening on call, right now.

For this part give Toby time to speak after each question: 20-30 seconds

Thanks for having me on guys, now before we attempt to contact entities from the other side, I must warn you, not every spirit is a Casper.

[Awkward silence with audio bed]

So… How do we go about contacting theses spirits then?

This isn’t amazon prime next day delivery, these are real people who have passed on into the afterlife, they will contact us when they feel ready.

Right, we’ll let you do your work then.

Wait everyone. I’m getting something.

Already?

Venkman, I can see a ghostly figure standing to your right, did you happen to have a death in the family recently?

No, not that I can remember.

Oh, get ready for an unfortunate call in the future.

Oh, okay, I can tell these readings are probably taking a toll on you so let’s take a quick bre-

Hold on. I’m getting another reading right now, Stantz, has your grandfather fallen ill recently?

He’s dead.

Yeah, that’s probably what it is, was his name James by any chance.

It was Phillip.

Wait, I think this is my grandad, oh my (gets cut off)

Paul? Hello, you there?

Sorry listeners, due to unforeseen circumstances, it looks like we’ve lost connection with our medium tonight, we’ll look at getting the connection back later next segment, as we’re cutting time a bit here.

[Old jingle plays]

(Start talking about favourite horror film)

So, let’s talk horror films

[Jingle]

What’s your opinion on this very famous horror film?

Oh, that one, it’s good I liked it when I first saw it in theatres

(Conversation continues for a little while)

(Fades out)
